Dr. Rose Muralikrishnan: Among the Music of India aficionados of California, the name Dr. Rose Muralikrishnan is tantamount to rigor, innovation, authenticity, and purity. Rose graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Queen Mary’s College, Master’s degree from the University of Madras, India in South Indian Carnatic Music and received her Doctor of Music in 2018.
Dr. Rose Muralikrishnan who captured thousands of music lovers' hearts all around the world with her mesmerizing tonal quality has been a tireless Indian Music performer and music guru, for the past 35 years and of which three decades in the Southern California region itself. After her M.A., graduation she had an elite opportunity to study the advanced rudiments of Carnatic music under the guidance of the Late Legend Dr. M.L. Vasanthakumari. Before joining the legend she underwent rigorous vocal training under many outstanding music gurus and musicologists such as Prof. Calcutta Krishnamurthy, Dr. S. Seetha, Dr. Suguna Varadhachari, Dr. N. Ramanathan, Dr. Vedavalli, Dr. Premeela Gurumurthy, Dr. Ritha Rajan, Dr. Lakshmi Bai, Dr. Jayaseethalakshmi to name a few.
She was an Adjunct Professor of South Indian Music at the Department of World Music, San Diego State University, California, USA 1991-92. Before coming to the United States of America she served as a Principal of the Carnatic music school at the Santhome Communication Center, Chennai, India. She was also a vocal instructor at the famous Jiddu Krishnamurthy's, Rishi Valley School, Andhra Pradesh, India where she taught music along with her legendary vocal Guru Dr. M. L. Vasanthakumari. Over a period of 33 years, she created a wide array of vocal students and several of them are full-time music performers today.
Dr. Rose Muralikrishnan had performed in several International Music Festivals at the finest music venues around the world. Festivals include but are not limited to the Sydney Opera House of Australia, Carnegie Hall of New York, Walt Disney Concert Hall of Hollywood, and Hodgson School Of Music, Georgia, to name a few. She had also performed in many World Music Festivals including the Music Academy of the West, the Center for Jazz and World Music Festival, CSU San Marcos International Music Festival, UCSB's Day of Music, and so forth. She had performed also in several local prestigious concert halls such as Shrine Auditorium, UCLA Schonberg Hall, SDSU Montezuma & Smith Recital Hall, UCSD Mandeville Theater USC Annenberg Auditorium, UCLB, Carpenter's Performing Arts Theater, UCSB, Salk Institute of San Diego, to add a few. She gave lectures and vocal performances at several universities all around the USA and India and conducted many famous bands in India and the USA.
Dr. Rose Muralikrishnan is not only an experienced vocalist but also a skillful music composer, songwriter, conductor, and director in the Indian classical music genre. She is one of the very few women composers and conductors in Indian Music history. Her unique production, entitled ‘Gayaka Vadhya Brundham’ a Symphony of Carnatic Instrumental & Choir of Vocalists for the first time, live in the United States at the prestigious Carpenter's Performing Arts Center in June 1996 was one of the masterpieces of the century, where a new life was given to over 2000-year-old traditional dying art form called Vadhya Brundham (Orchestral music) of India.
Dr. Rose Muralikrishnan is a Founder & CEO of Spring Nectar Foundation for Indian Music & Heritage, a 501(c) (3) Non-Profit Organization. She is also a founder & CEO of Spring Nectar TV which is a sister concern of the foundation that was launched on March 3rd, 2021 to create opportunities and tools for yester, current & next generation Indian from around the world with the concept of 3E solution ENTERTAIN, EDUCATE & EMPOWER to fuel their talent, based on strategy and experience by providing them with all resources & atmosphere to make them better professionals in the world of entertainment.
Dr. Rose Muralikrishnan has been a tireless teacher, performer, and pioneer of Carnatic music in Los Angeles, Orange, San Diego, Riverside, and San Bernardino, Ventura counties. Rose currently is investing a substantial part of her musical energy into bringing up the next generation musicians of Carnatic music from the Southern California region. She is also a frequent lecturer at several reputed Universities around the nation.

Apart from that, much of her precious time is committed to researching a new voice training technique called KoBHoMoTo voice training which promotes anyone to sing any kind of music from Classical, Light, Light Classical, Folk, and even Western Music.
Dr. Rose Muralikrishnan’s new and innovative research work named KOBOMOTO VOICE TRAINING is widely getting acclamation worldwide, which is an eye opener to those who want to sing any genre of music including Eastern, Western, Bollywood, or even Hollywood music. She had taken CARNATIC MUSIC to the WORLD’S FINEST VENUES. Under her expert direction, Spring Nectar Indian Ensemble won Gold Award at Carnegie Hall, New York, at the Sydney Opera House, in Australia, and at Walt Disney Concert Hall, in Los Angeles. She is currently investing a substantial part of her entrepreneurial energy into developing Spring Nectar’s many initiatives to reach out around the world to create opportunities for Indian diasporas around the world. She is also involved in creating many short films focusing on ancient India’s hidden valuable treasures written 5000 years on ancient treatises, Vedas, mantras, ithihasas, Puranas, and siddhar philosophies to light from 2022 January onwards. She is an enthusiastic collector of ancient musical instruments and arts from around the world and does this as a hobby.
She is one of the pioneers in creating online initiatives during the initial stages of covid19 from the beginning of March 2020 till today and worked tirelessly for the past two years by hosting live online events, competitions, music, dance, arts festivals, and cultural initiatives for free of cost to the worldwide audiences with the innovative concept of “SAVE THE HUMAN RACE BY KEEPING THEM INDOORS TO BEAT COVID19”. It was a very successful concept to this date and recently every single organization from around the world had started promoting this concept to conduct live events online.
